Rising Numbers of Uninsured Drivers Are Driving Up Costs for Everyone

v

The Wall Street Journal reported a significant increase in the number of uninsured motorists in the July 25, 2024 article "An Increase in Uninsured Drivers Is Pushing Up Costs for Everyone Else" by Kailyn Rhone. From 2019 until 2022, the data shows that the number of uninsured motors operating vehicles on our roadways has increased by approximately 3%, nationally. In Ohio, the WSJ notes that the number of infractions for people operating their vehicles without the proper auto insurance has increased to 16%.

At Robenalt Law, we help people who have been injured in auto crashes, and given this increase in the number of uninsured motorists, and we want to remind people that it is always important to review your auto insurance policy to make sure that you have uninsured motors coverage and it’s best to have a policy limit of at least a $100,000 to protect yourself in the event of a crash caused by an insured motorist. In fact, higher policy limits are available at very reasonable rates, including umbrella policies that can offer uninsured motors coverage to protect yourself and your family members.
