Cuyahoga County Over-bills Thousands of People on their Property Taxes

The Robenalt Law Firm was recently featured on WKYC-TV to discuss the class action case they filed against Cuyahoga County for the thousands of people they over-billed on their property taxes. Just after the housing market crashed, people were billed on the greater value of their homes rather than the newer, lesser value. Once the county had the money in their pocket, they did not want to pay it back. The Judge on the case has kept them on the hook for near $3.8 million, plus 10 years of interest. The county declined to make a comment, but attorney Thomas D. Robenalt believes, “when the trial court says you owe money, you should pay it; you shouldn’t delay it.”
