Takeda Pharmaceutical agrees to settlement in lawsuit related to the drug Actos

The New York Times reported today that Takeda Pharmaceutical announced this week that it has agreed to pay $2.4 billion to settle most of the product liability lawsuits related to the drug Actos, a diabetes drug. While the manufacturer continues to deny liability, the lawsuits alleges that Actos causes bladder cancer and has affected patients across the country including in the States of Ohio and Florida.
